The 4th generation Hyundai Elantra was discontinued in South Korea in 2010, and later the 5th generation Elantra was released. However, in China, the 4th generation Hyundai Elantra was still produced by Beijing Hyundai joint venture until 2016. Between 2012 to 2016, there are two Hyundai Elantra cars, including 4th generation Yuedong and 5th generation Langdong, in the Chinese market. With the release of 6th generation Hyundai Elantra, it is not possible to produce 4th generation Elantra unceasingly, in this case, Hyundai Celesta was released to replace the extended production of the Hyundai Elantra Yuedong.
